CVE-2024-41056

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the cs dsp coeff parse alg() and cs dsp coeff parse coeff() functions in the Linux kernel's cs dsp component. This can lead to a denial of service. The vulnerability is resolved by using strnlen() instead of strlen() on the algorithm and coefficient name string arrays in V1 wmfw files to prevent overrunning the array if the NUL terminator is missing.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
