Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to incorrect locking in the
hci unregister dev() function in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth component. This can cause a deadlock when hci release dev() is called from hci error reset(), leading to a denial of service. The problem occurs because hci error reset() is called from hdev->req workqueue, which needs to be flushed when destroy workqueue() is called. To fix this, cancel work sync() should be called on the affected work items from hci unregister dev() as soon as hdev->list is removed from hci dev list. The affected work items include hdev->{rx work, cmd work,tx work} and hdev->{power on,error reset}.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
