Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A vulnerability has been resolved in the Linux kernel related to the CXL subsystem's auto-assembly of pmem regions during endpoint port probing. The issue causes a kernel NULL pointer dereference due to the
cxl nvd of the memdev not being available during the pmem region probe. This is because the cxl nvd is registered after the endpoint port probe. To fix this, a port parameter needs to be added to cxl find nvdimm bridge() to query the ancestor root port.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
