Description
The issue is related to the bcachefs file system in the Linux kernel. Specifically, the
bch2 sb downgrade validate() function was not checking for a downgrade entry extending past the end of the superblock section. Additionally, the for each downgrade entry() function, used in to text(), needs to work on malformed input and was missing a check for a field extending past the end of the section.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
