CVE-2024-4193

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Testimonial Slider plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3.2
Description The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the testimonialcategory shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.3.2, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue in the testimonialcategory shortcode. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the testimonialcategory shortcode for users with contributor-level access and above until a patch is available.
