CVE-2024-42080

CVSS v2.0

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a potential invalid address access in the RDMA/restrack component of the Linux kernel. Specifically, the kern name of the struct rdma restrack entry is set to KBUILD MODNAME in ib create cq(), which can cause an invalid address access in rdma restrack clean() when printing the owner of the rdma restrack entry. This code was used to help find a forgotten PD release in one of the ULPs but is no longer needed. The vulnerability may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
