CVE-2024-42117

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue arises in the drm/amd/display component of the Linux kernel when the functions find disp cfg idx by plane id and find disp cfg idx by stream id return -1, indicating that an index was not found. Since -1 is not a valid index number, the code calls ASSERT() and returns a positive number instead. This resolves 4 OVERRUN and 2 NEGATIVE RETURNS issues reported by Coverity.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
