Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to a component in the Linux kernel's net subsystem, specifically with the
xs tcp setup socket function. When using a BPF program on kernel connect(), the call can return -EPERM, causing xs tcp setup socket() to loop forever and fill up the syslog, potentially freezing the kernel. This could lead to a denial-of-service condition. The suggestion is to remap EPERM to a more expected network error, such as ECONNREFUSED or ENETDOWN, for consistent behavior.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
