CVE-2024-4375

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Master Slider – Responsive Touch Slider plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.9.10
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'ms layer' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the css id user-supplied attribute. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.9.10, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'ms layer' shortcode or disabling the css id attribute to minimize the risk of exploitation.
