CVE-2024-4383

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Simple Membership plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.4.5
Description The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the swpm paypal subscription cancel link shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute when a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 4.4.5, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue in the swpm paypal subscription cancel link shortcode. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the swpm paypal subscription cancel link shortcode to prevent exploitation.
