CVE-2024-4470

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Master Slider – Responsive Touch Slider plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.9.9
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'ms slide info' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied tag name attribute. This allows authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.9.9, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the ms slide info shortcode or disabling it until a patch is available. Restrict contributor-level access and above to minimize the risk of exploitation.
