9.1
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Mirotalk versions prior to commit c21d58
Description
The issue is related to incorrect access control in the function handleDataChannelChat(dataMessage), which allows attackers to forge chat messages using an arbitrary sender name, such as
sender name. This can be achieved by exploiting the vulnerable function handleDataChannelChat(dataMessage).Recommendations
For versions prior to commit c21d58, consider disabling the handleDataChannelChat(dataMessage) function until a patch is available. Restrict access to chat message handling to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using arbitrary sender names in the affected function until the issue is resolved.
