Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Blocksy Companion plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.0.45
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via SVG uploads due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
Update to a patched version immediately to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting SVG uploads or disabling the vulnerable functionality until a patch is available. Ensure that only trusted users have contributor-level permissions and above to minimize the risk of exploitation.
