Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue occurs when enabling access to the special register set in the Linux kernel, which can lead to Receiver time-out and RHR interrupts. The IRQ handler attempts to read from the FIFO through the RHR register at address 0x00, but this address is mapped to the DLL register, resulting in erroneous FIFO reading. The problem can be fixed by claiming the
efr lock mutex when accessing the Special register set. The affected functions include sc16is7xx startup(), sc16is7xx ms proc(), sc16is7xx set termios(), sc16is7xx set baud(), sc16is7xx port irq(), sc16is7xx handle rx(), and sc16is7xx fifo read().Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
