Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.50
Description
The Linux kernel has a vulnerability related to double DMA unmapping for XDP REDIRECT. This issue arises from the
dma unmap page attrs() call in the driver's XDP REDIRECT code path, which should have been removed when the page pool was allowed to handle the DMA mapping. The bug causes a warning and can lead to system instability.Recommendations
To resolve this issue, update the Linux kernel to version 6.6.50 or later. If updating is not possible, consider disabling the XDP REDIRECT feature or restricting its use to minimize the risk of exploitation. However, these are temporary workarounds, and updating the kernel is the recommended solution.
At the moment, there is no information about other versions that contain a fix for this vulnerability.
