Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.50
Description
A deadlock problem occurs when configuring TC during the reset process in the Linux kernel. This issue arises because the setup tc process will UP the port before UINIT, causing a deadlock. The problem is fixed by adding a DOWN process in UINIT.
Recommendations
To resolve this issue, update the Linux kernel to version 6.6.50 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
napi enable() function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the netif napi del() and netif napi add() functions to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the napi disable() function in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.Exploit
