Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bound access in the Linux kernel when the
z erofs gbuf growsize() function partially fails due to memory allocation failure or fault injection. This can lead to null-ptr-deref or out-of-bound access because the old gbuf->pages[] array may not be large enough. The fix involves checking against gbuf->nrpages in advance to prevent this issue.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
