CVE-2024-46692

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the get wq ctx() function being wrongly configured as a standard call instead of an atomic call. When two SMC calls are in sleep and one SMC wakes up, it calls get wq ctx() to resume the corresponding sleeping thread. However, if get wq ctx() is interrupted, goes to sleep, and another SMC call is waiting to be allocated a waitq context, it leads to a deadlock. To avoid this, get wq ctx() must be marked as a fast call.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
