Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A NULL pointer dereference issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel, specifically in the net: phy: dp83822 module, which affects DP83825 devices. The
probe() function is only used for DP83822 and DP83826 PHY, leaving the private data pointer uninitialized for the DP83825 models, causing a NULL pointer dereference in the dp8382x config init() and dp83822 set wol() functions. The addition of the dp8382x probe() function fixes this issue and prevents similar issues in the future.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
