CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability has been resolved in the Linux kernel related to the bpf (Berkeley Packet Filter) functionality. The issue arises from the sign-extension of 32-bit load for packet data/data end/data meta uapi fields, which can cause a kernel crash. The problem occurs when the sk buff->data load has 32-bit sign extension, potentially making the kernel sk buff->data address invalid and leading to runtime failure. The vulnerability was reported by syzbot due to a commit that handled sign-extension in ctx member accesses.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
