Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.58
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved by implementing a two-phase skb reclamation in 'ieee80211 do stop()'. The issue occurred because ' dev queue xmit()' should be called with interrupts enabled, but it was being called with IRQS disabled, resulting in a warning. The vulnerability is related to the wifi and mac80211 components of the kernel.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.58, update to version 6.6.58 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
ieee80211 do stop() function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable wifi and mac80211 components to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the dev queue xmit() function with IRQS disabled until the issue is resolved.Exploit
