Description
The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an os command, also known as 'os command injection', which may allow an attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via CLI. This can be achieved by sending specially crafted requests to the CLI.
Recommendations
For Fortinet FortiSandbox versions 3.0.5 through 3.0.7, update to a version that includes a fix for this issue.
For Fortinet FortiSandbox versions 3.2.0 through 3.2.4, update to a version that includes a fix for this issue.
For Fortinet FortiSandbox versions 4.0.0 through 4.0.5, update to a version that includes a fix for this issue.
For Fortinet FortiSandbox versions 4.2.0 through 4.2.6, update to a version that includes a fix for this issue.
For Fortinet FortiSandbox versions 4.4.0 through 4.4.2, update to a version that includes a fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the CLI to minimize the risk of exploitation.
