Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Testimonial Carousel For Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 10.2.0
Description
The issue is related to a missing capability check on the
save testimonials option callback function, allowing unauthorized modification of data. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update the OpenAI API key, which can disable the feature.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 10.2.0, update to a version that includes a fix for the missing capability check on the
save testimonials option callback function to prevent unauthorized modification of data. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the save testimonials option callback function until a patch is available.Fix
