Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
HT Mega – Absolute Addons For Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.5.2
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the
popover header text parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.5.2, update to a version that includes the necessary security patches to fix the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
popover header text parameter until a patch is available.Fix
