CVE-2024-4971
CVSS v3.1
6.4
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
LearnPress – WordPress LMS Plugin versions up to, and including, 4.2.6.6
Description:
The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The
id parameter is specifically vulnerable to this type of attack.Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 4.2.6.6, avoid using the
id parameter in affected pages until the issue is resolved. As a temporary workaround, consider implementing additional input validation and output escaping for the id parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.XSS
