| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.58
Description:
The issue concerns the Linux kernel, specifically the drm/amd/display component. It involves the initialization of
get bytes per element's default value to 1. Variables used as denominators should not be 0, as bytes per element y and bytes per element c are initialized by get bytes per element(), which should never return 0. This resolves 10 DIVIDE BY ZERO issues reported by Coverity.Recommendations:
For versions prior to 6.6.58, update to version 6.6.58 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider modifying the
get bytes per element function to ensure it never returns 0, thus preventing DIVIDE BY ZERO errors.Exploit
