CVE-2024-49937

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.58
Description: A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the wifi: cfg80211 component. When starting CAC in a mode other than AP mode, it returns a warning caused by the chandef.chan being null at the end of CAC. The solution is to ensure the channel definition is set for the different modes when starting CAC to avoid getting a NULL 'chan' at the end of CAC.
Recommendations: For Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.58, ensure the channel definition is set for the different modes when starting CAC to avoid getting a NULL 'chan' at the end of CAC. Update to Linux kernel version 6.6.58 or later to resolve the issue.
