CVSS v2.0

9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: The vulnerability is related to the ip6 tnl parse tlv enc lim() function in the Linux kernel's IPv6 implementation. The issue arises from broken NEXTHDR FRAGMENT handling, which can lead to accessing uninitialized memory (garbage) when reading frag off without pulling enough bytes to skb->head. This can potentially impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The vulnerability was identified by syzbot, which pointed out the broken handling.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
