CVE-2024-50010

CVSS v3.1

4.7

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: The issue is related to a racy path noexec check in the Linux kernel, which resulted in unwarranted warnings. The checks were part of an old implementation and were not removed but instead wrapped in WARN ON, providing some debug value. However, the path noexec check is racy, leading to unnecessary warnings when someone races with setting the noexec flag. The condition checks are not guaranteed to still hold after being tested, and the code path may not have performed any permission checking to begin with.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
