Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A NULL pointer dereference issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel. The problem occurs when the
snd hda gen add kctl function fails to allocate memory and returns NULL, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. To fix this, a simple check has been added before dereferencing to ignore the failure, as the dolphin fixups function is not supposed to return errors. This issue was found by the Linux Verification Center with SVACE.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
