Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The issue is related to the DP83869 PHY driver in the Linux kernel, which incorrectly calls
linkmode set bit() with a bit mask rather than a bit number when configuring the fiber port. This results in memory corruption, affecting other memory locations, such as the priv pointer in the same structure on arm64 systems. The incorrect line of code is unnecessary and can be removed.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
