CVE-2024-5020
CVSS v3.1
6.4
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
WordPress plugins versions 1.3.4 through 3.5.7
Description:
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's bundled FancyBox JavaScript library due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations:
For WordPress plugins versions 1.3.4 through 3.5.7, consider disabling the FancyBox JavaScript library until a patch is available.
Restrict access to pages that use the FancyBox library to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Avoid using user-supplied attributes in the affected plugins until the issue is resolved.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
