CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: A memory leak issue has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the drm display mode from cea vic() function. The mode allocated in drm mode duplicate() called by drm display mode from cea vic() is not freed, causing the memory leak. This issue occurs when modprobe drm hdmi state helper test and then rmmod it. The memory leak can be fixed by freeing the mode using drm kunit display mode from cea vic().
Recommendations: As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the drm display mode from cea vic() function until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
