CVE-2024-50244

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.61
Description: A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved by adding an additional check in the ni clear() function. This check prevents access to an uninitialized bitmap during the replay process by verifying the NTFS FLAGS LOG REPLAYING flag.
Recommendations: For versions prior to 6.6.61, update to version 6.6.61 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the fs/ntfs3 module until a patch is available.
