CVE-2024-5266

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Download Manager Pro plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.2.92
Description The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in certain shortcodes, including wpdm user dashboard, wpdm package, wpdm packages, wpdm search result, and wpdm tag. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.2.92, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the shortcodes wpdm user dashboard, wpdm package, wpdm packages, wpdm search result, and wpdm tag to minimize the risk of exploitation.
