CVE-2024-53048

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the Linux kernel's handling of DPLL enabled E810 LOM designs. The E810 Lan On Motherboard (LOM) design is vendor-specific, and Intel provides the reference design. However, the static values defined in the driver do not reflect the actual LOM design, causing a crash on probe for DPLL enabled E810 LOM designs. The number of dpll pins enabled by the LOM vendor is greater than expected and defined in the driver for Intel-designed NICs, leading to the crash. A newly designed solution based on "per HW design" pin initialization is planned to prevent the crash and allow generic pin initialization within the Linux DPLL subsystem.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
