Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.11.6
Description
A resource allocation issue has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the lib/slub kunit.c file. The issue arises from the direct use of kmalloc cache noprof, resulting in no alloc tag being allocated, which causes a warning in alloc tag add check. This issue can potentially be exploited by an attacker to manipulate system resources.
Recommendations
To resolve this issue, update the Linux kernel to a version later than 6.11.6.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable function kmalloc cache noprof within lib/slub kunit.c until a patch is available.
