CVE-2024-53055

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue arises when more than 255 colocated APs exist for the set of all APs found during 2.4/5 GHz scanning, causing the 6 GHz scan construction to loop forever due to the loop variable having type u8, which cannot reach numbers larger than 255. The variable is stored in a u32 variable. To address this, the code has been modified to limit the number of APs in the scan list and each AP has a limit on the number of RNR entries due to the frame size.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
