Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the drm/imagination component. The issue occurs when remaining resources are being cleaned up on driver close, and outstanding VM mappings may result in resources being leaked due to an object reference loop. The loop involves several objects, including the PVR GEM Object, GPU scheduler fences, PVR driver fence, PVR Context, PVR VM Context, and PVR VM Mappings. The reference from the PVR VM Context to the VM mappings is a soft one, and freeing the outstanding VM mappings before destroying the PVR Context associated with the VM context breaks the reference loop.
Recommendations
To resolve the issue, free the outstanding VM mappings before destroying the PVR Context associated with the VM context.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
