CVE-2024-53191

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue occurs when there is an error during initialization related to firmware, causing the buffers dp->tx ring[i].tx status to be released. However, these buffers are released again when the device is unbound, resulting in a warning. This problem is always reproducible from a virtual machine because the MSI addressing initialization is failing.
Recommendations To fix the issue, set the buffers to NULL after releasing in order to avoid the double free. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
