Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue arises when the
register sysctl() function returns NULL, causing svc rdma proc cleanup() to fail in destroying the percpu counters initialized in svc rdma proc init(). This can lead to memory leakage if CONFIG HOTPLUG CPU is not enabled. If CONFIG HOTPLUG CPU is enabled, residual nodes may remain in the 'percpu counters' list, potentially causing issues when the module is removed. The problem is associated with the percpu counter destroy many() function and can result in a page fault error.Recommendations
To resolve the issue, destroy all percpu counters when
register sysctl() returns NULL.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
