Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: The ProfileGrid – User Profiles, Groups and Communities plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.8.6

Description: The issue allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to modify data without proper authorization. This is due to a missing capability check on the pm dismissible notice and pm wizard update group icon functions. As a result, attackers can change arbitrary options to the value 1 or modify group icons.

Recommendations: For versions up to, and including, 5.8.6, update to a version that includes a fix for the missing capability check in the pm dismissible notice and pm wizard update group icon functions. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the pm dismissible notice and pm wizard update group icon functions until a patch is available.
