Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Master Addons – Free Widgets, Hover Effects, Toggle, Conditions, Animations for Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.0.6.1
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the Navigation Menu widget of the plugin's Mega Menu extension. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.0.6.1, update to a version later than 2.0.6.1 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Navigation Menu widget of the Mega Menu extension until a patch is available. Avoid using user-supplied attributes in the affected widget until the issue is resolved.
