CVE-2024-5649

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Universal Slider plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.6.5
Description The issue allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject a PHP Object via deserialization of untrusted input in the fsl get gallery value function. This could potentially lead to the deletion of arbitrary files, retrieval of sensitive data, or execution of code if a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.6.5, consider disabling the fsl get gallery value function until a patch is available to prevent the deserialization of untrusted input. Restrict access to the Universal Slider plugin to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the Universal Slider plugin with other plugins or themes that may introduce a POP chain until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
