Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, which involved filtering invalid inodes with missing lookup functions. The issue was addressed by adding a check to the
ovl dentry weird() function to prevent the processing of directory inodes that lack the lookup function. This is important because such inodes can cause errors in overlayfs when passed to the lowerstack.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
