Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.74
Description
A shift-out-of-bounds error in the
dbSplit function has been resolved. The issue occurs when dmt budmin is less than zero, causing errors in later stages. A check has been added to return an error beforehand in the dbAllocCtl function.Recommendations
For versions prior to 6.6.74, update to version 6.6.74 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider adding a check to ensure
dmt budmin is not less than zero before proceeding with the dbSplit function.Exploit
