Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.74
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue is related to the gpio: grgpio component, where the function
grgpio probe does not check for a NULL pointer returned by devm kasprintf() in case of an error. This can lead to a kernel NULL pointer dereference error.Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.74, update to version 6.6.74 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider adding a NULL check in
grgpio probe to handle the kernel NULL pointer dereference error until a patch is available.Exploit
