CVE-2024-5668

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FooBox plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.7.28
Description The issue is related to DOM-based Stored Cross-Site Scripting via HTML data attributes due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.7.28, update to a version higher than 2.7.28 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting contributor-level access and above to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, avoid using user-supplied attributes in HTML data until the issue is resolved.
