CVE-2024-56690

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue arises when the pcrypt encryption and decryption operations return -EAGAIN, causing an unnecessary panic when panic on warn is set to 1. This occurs due to changes made since commit 8f4f68e788c3, where pcrypt operations return -EAGAIN when the CPU goes online or offline. The problem is fixed by calling the crypto layer directly without parallelization in such cases.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
