CVE-2024-56710

CVSS v2.0

4.6

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel, specifically in the ceph direct read/write functionality. The bvecs array, allocated in iter get bvecs alloc(), is leaked and pages remain pinned if ceph alloc sparse ext map() fails. To fix this, the allocation of the sparse ext map has been moved earlier, and a similar adjustment has been made in ceph sync read() for consistency.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
